Are your the dreamer or the action taker?<\/p>\n<h2>Spiritual Awakening: Nothing But A Dreamer? What You Talking About Willis<\/h2>\n<p>This post was inspired by\u00a0 The Supertramp Song, Dreamer as it\u00a0 talks aboit being a dreamer at first it condems the dreamer and then it embraces the idea of being a dreamer. I added the What You Talking About Willis from the TV Show, Different Strokes, so as to emphasize how important it is to believe in yourself and not let doubters hold you back.\u00a0 In his poem Hold Fast Your Dreams, Langston Hughes says:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ts2.mm.bing.net\/th?id=I4798402471264801&amp;pid=1.1\" alt=\"\" width=\"264\" height=\"198\" \/>\u00a0I have used this on several occassions during presentations to illustrate the idea of having dreams. I am reminded of the final scene of The Movie Accepted when the character Bartlebee ask the question What Did You Want To Be? One of the Board Members answered a Flute Player I wanted to play the flute. I began to think why did the man who want to play the flute give up or never pursue it? The reason he bought into the adult mode that dreams are for kids. Dreams are for everyone and you should always encourage the dreamers for it is those that take action on their dreams that succeed and inspire to do the same. Louise Hay, The Founder of Hay House Publishing(an affiliate on this site), shared the follwing in a recent interview with Ray Hemachandra:<\/p>\n<div id=\"content_right\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ts3.mm.bing.net\/th?id=I4587107261416202&amp;pid=1.1\" alt=\"\" width=\"218\" height=\"300\" \/>\u00a0Louise Hay Shares insight into how her dream of Ballroom Dancing became a reality.<\/div>\n<p>Ray Hemachandra: I am told you have taken up ballroom dancing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Louise Hay: Yes, and it is something I started rather late, about two years ago. For whatever reason \u2014 for many reasons \u2014 I was always frightened of it. I kept saying things like, \u201cI\u2019ll do it in my next lifetime.\u201d Then one day I thought, \u201cThat\u2019s pretty stupid!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I walked past a dance place, and they said, \u201cWe teach you to dance one step at a time,\u201d and I thought, \u201cI can do that!\u201d So, I went in. I remember I held my breath the <em>entire<\/em> first lesson. But I kept going back. The self-help teacher talks about her books, her business, retirement, and the power of thought and word.<\/p>\n<p>One day my teacher said to me, \u201cLouise, I see the fear come into your eyes. Where is it coming from?\u201d I couldn\u2019t answer her, but when I went home, I thought about it. \u201cWhere is this coming from?\u201d I thought. \u201cWhy am I so frightened of this?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>I got the answer. I felt that if I did it wrong, I was going to be slapped. I thought, \u201cOh, my, that goes back a <em>long way<\/em>, and I am still holding on to that!\u201d And this understanding broke it for me.<\/p>\n<p>I went back, and I told her what it was. When I realized what the problem was, that made a whole difference. And then, from there on, we had a lot of fun.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>One reason we do not pursue our dreams is due to fear as explained above. To overcome this fear we must begin to realize that only our thoughts and our fears can hold us back. Noone else can hold us back unless we surrender our personal power and allow them to hold us back.\u00a0 Many times words from others hurt and we give them credence and then we don&#8217;t pursue our dream or we say the heck with their thought I am going to reach down inside and prove to myself that I can do it.\u00a0 I did this when I was competting in The Florida Jaycees Speak-Up Competition, many told me I wasn&#8217;t on the level of the other competitors at first I believed the nay sayers ten one day I decided I am going to compete and as a result of finding my inner strength and chasing the dream of winning in February of 1990 I won 1st place on the state level. I then began to be invited to speak at chapters throughout the state. In 1995 I was named one of the top 5 Jaycees in America. I have learned that when you dream and take action toward that dream that you can achieve that dream. Many times what seems far fetched and outrageous to others comes to us and is done by us because we believed in the power of our dreams.<\/p>\n<h2>Spiritual Awakening: Tools for The Dreamer<\/h2>\n<p>Like all good carpenters you should have a great tool box filled with resources\u00a0 that can help you build your dreams. Today I added a new\u00a0tool a book by David B.Kagan\u00a0 titled Dreams Passions and Destiny with some great immages and quotes to inspire and empower the reader.
