Spiritual Awakening: Is It Passion Or Pushiness?

Relay for Life Jewelry Fundraiser | WESTconsin Credit Union BlogRelay for Life of Falls Church Scheduled for June 1, 2013 | The Falls ... Today’s blog entry is inspired by an interaction I had regarding The American Cancer Society Relay For Life that  made me question my spiritual awakening as to whether it is passion or pushiness? As I answered a call from Waters Edge Elementary School and was informed that the school would not be having a team in Relay For Life all I could think is why not and I began to ask many questions of the women on the other end of the phone and as I continued to press her she was getting agitated and seemed more interested in her meeting than focusing on the moment and realizing that it was all about reinforcing positive values of being of service to the children. This led me to sit down and ask myself was it passion or pushiness.  My  conclusion is it all depends on what side of the call you were on and what perspective you were seeing the issue.  As I hung up the phone I came to the conclusion that for me it was putting my passion into action because I knew that in a school as big as Waters Edge Elementary there must be 15 people that Relay For Life would resonate with. My thought process was get me in front of people and let me share my story and people will vibrate and resonate with me and get involved. I am sure as the women hung up the phone she was thinking what a pushy son of a gun. It all depends on what side of the conversation you were on that determines whether it was passion or pushiness. In being an action taker your passion my be taken for pushiness however do not let this stop you from putting your passion into action and shining your light. Remember less than 5% of the population will follow their passion and many will not awaken spiritually to recognize that we are all divine children of GOD and when we resonate and vibrate on an equal plane we begin to create great things.

I have often stated that when a school is truly concerned about the well being of the students and the community they create an environment that leads to peace, love, joy, and prosperity.  I always ask teachers when was the last time you asked your class about what they really want to do and then geared lesson plans to fuel this passion. I worked as a Teacher Assistant for The Alpha Program, a program for 6th graders who may be at risk for dropping out, at Margate Middle School and one of the things I did was sit down with all 28 students to do an interest inventory because I knew not everyone had the same interests and when I was given the opportunity to present lessons I geared the lesson to focus on each students interest so they would grasp the concept that I was teaching and to see how it relates to their life.  When we begin to find out what drives people and what they are passionate about it makes it easier to be a lifter and thus by lifting them up we lift ourselves up. Imagine the feeling a child would have by raising funds for Relay For Life or decorating a Luminaria Bag and coming to Relay For Life and getting recognized for their efforts, what a self-esteem builder that would be for them.  Think about all the times you received positive recognition and how it made you feel. Didn’t you want to do more positive things. In many cases a child is awakened spiritually when they are awarded for their efforts while engaging in their search to answer a calling.

When you can help a child or an adult to discover what they are passion about and to create a positive change in their lives you grow personally and spiritually. When a community comes together and follows a passion and makes a difference in the lives of the citizens in the community the community grows stronger and as a result the quality of life improves in that community.

When you are passionate about your dreams and you let them be known you may be seen as pushy because you are evoking emotions in others that make them realize that you have awakened spiritually and you are creating the life you desire while they are still stuck and have not figured a way to follow their passion and to step into their power to create happiness in their lives. The fact of life is that there will be some that will understand your passion others that see it as pushiness, so what, there are people waiting to hear your message and support your passion, if they are not use the four letter word NEXT. Remember you are not going to resonate with everyone, however those that you do resonate with will help you to enhance your personal and professional life while you add value to their personal and professional life.

Today be enthusiastic as you set your heart on fire and live your life with passion. Step into your power and see what positive things occur. Stay Positive.
