Spiritual Awakening: It’s Beginning To Feel Like Christmas!
As I ventured out on Friday (12/13/13) to do my Christmas Shopping I felt another spiritual awakening come over me. It was an awakening that Christmas can be an everyday occurrence as we all have the ability to give a gift. It doesn’t have to be a monetary gift or a material gift it can be a gift of spirit, a kind word, a random act of kindness, a smile, or just letting someone go ahead of you in line. It is when we adopt the anthem to take action and come from a place of kindness and love that our spiritual channels are open up and thus we receive gifts that enhance our personal and professional life because we took the time to enhance the personal and professional lives of others.
As I strolled through The Forest of Angels Project at The Promenade at Coconut Creek I experienced another spiritual awakening as I witnessed 22 Christmas Trees decorated by sponsors who designated a charity for their Christmas Tree to represent as this project gives money to the top 3 trees who garner the most votes. To vote on a tree you make a donation of at least $1 and place the number of the Christmas Tree you like on the ballot you receive ( a raffle ticket) you vote and then place your ticket in the chance drawing box of the prize you would like to win. My awakening was that more people are doing good than bad and we need to capitalize on the feeling and spirit of Christmas and make it a daily practice. maybe not with trees or lights or presents but with actions that will show people that they are divine creatures of GOD with a purpose and thus everyday it can feel like Christmas.
As I began to see many different wreaths and observe the many lights and other decorations I realized that the spirit of Christmas is within each of us and when we let this spirit out on a daily basis our lives improve. It is this time of the year when we come together and help our fellow man and make the world brighter. This spirit can shine through all year round if we reach deep inside ourselves and ask each day how can I add value to someone else’s life? It is in finding ways to be of value to others that your value increases.
Though SANTA CLAUS maybe a fictional character made to represent The Christmas Spirit of giving the concept of Santa lives in all of us. I came up with an acronym for SANTA- Spiritual, Authentic, Nice, Talented, Angel. We all have the capabilities to share our spirituality, to be authentic, to spread niceness, to use our talents, and to be an angel to someone in need. It is when we capture the spirit of Christmas and release it daily that our light shines bright for others to see and thus their lives are made better for our presence and our actions.

Share with others. If you have a good book, a good quote, or a kind word share it and watch what unfolds.
Volunteer in your community. Use your talents for good and good things will happen for you.
Meditate and pray daily to create a sense of well being while you make the mind, body, soul connection. It is when you are centered and grounded that greatness occurs.
Exercise. Do something that physical that will give you mental clarity and help you to release and blockages that may be holding you back from embracing the spirit of Christmas daily and thus transforming into the great person that you are.
