Spiritual Awakening: Slow Down And Enjoy The Moment

Today’s blog entry was inspired by this Simon and Garfunkel song Feeling Groovy as I began to realize how important it is to slow down and enjoy the moment. It is very importnat to be an action taker and to move forward in a positive direction with all that you, however you also must realize that there comes a time to slow down and relish the moment. Imagine finding out that you were selected to be part of a book, you write your chapter and then you wonder what is next instead of taking it in and writing in your gratitude journal that today I am grateful for the opportunity to share with others to help them excel. Many times we get so caught up in the what is next that we forget what we have done.

It is when we are relaxed and that we take time to reflect the moments that we achieved greatness that we truly can move forward. What moments of greatness have you not had a time to celebrate as you kept wondering what is next.  The idea is take time to celebrate and cherish the moment before you move on the the next thing.

On October 24 we celebrate Global Oneness Day that was the brain child of Neale Donald Walsh and Michael Bernard Beckwith and this is a great day to cherish the moment and bring people together to understand that we are all interconnected.

I found this video and I immediately thought how we have a responsibility to enjoy the moment and share our inter connectivity. When we begin to embrace our oneness we begin to make positive changes and we begin to create more moments to cherish.  We begin to experience an awakening and we begin to act upon the messages we are receiving  and we start to create anthems for ourselves and we realize a calling that can change our lives while we also change the lives of those around us.  When we begin to change and understand that we are all part of this universe and we  start to affect change by coming alive and sharing with the community our dreams.
It is when you awaken and you become aware and you begin to focus on a task such as writing a blog entry and blocking everything else out so that you can evoke emotions of joy and create abundance across the universe by sharing feelings of fellowship and creating a positive flow and finishing what you began that you begin to come alive an realize that you can do anything you put your mind to. There is greatness to be had in every moment even the moments that may saddened us like the loss of a loved one, the greatness in that moment is that we can remember the lessons taught and know that at any given time we can call upon a moment of joy to help us create a moment to cherish. Sometimes it is through loss that we experience the greatest lessons.

Spiritual Awakening: Lessons and Tools To Help You Slow Down and Enjoy The Moment

I remember a night in February of 1990 when I sat in the awards banquet waiting to hear the results of The Florida Jaycees Speak-Up Competition as I had made it to the final round earlier that day. As The announced the top 3 I was pacing in the back of the room and was told by a judge to sit down I hadn’t won. This was done as a ploy so when I was announced as the winner and stood up they could carry me to the stage. I was anoounced as The 1st Place Winner and they carried me to the stage and then I realized I have to deliver my speech in the morning. I took time to relish in the moment and celebrate and as the night ended I realized that by slowing down and enjoying moments and sharing with others that I had a great message. The following morning I delivered my speech to over 1000 delegates at the convention and was given a standing ovation. To think that was 22 years ago and since then all the moments that I have been part of, the holiday shopping spress for over 1000 needy children, the number of speeches delivered, and the number of lives touched. The lessons learned were to slow down and as Eknath Easwaran says Take Your Time.  I have learned that by slowing down and enjoying moments your life and the lives around you are improved.

This week step into your greatness and enjoy the moment.
