Spiritual Awakening: Marking Special Days!!!

As I prepare for POINTS FOR THE CURE FOOTBALL EDITION to benefit The American Cancer Society Relay For Life Of Plantation and Sunrise which will be held from 10/27-31/2022 I am reminded through the spiritual awakening process just why I continue to mark special days. As those of you who read this blog on a regular basis are aware my mother was called home to GOD on July 5, 2012 after suffering a massive heart attack after battling non-operable metastatic lung cancer. My mom’s birthday is October 30 and she loved Halloween so to honor her I do a few fundraisers for The American Cancer Society in October. I do this as a result of a message I received years ago while searching for ways to make a positive impact on the lives of others. The message I recived from GOD, Jesus, The Ascended Masters, and The Angels was to mark special days bu following your passion and taking action. Since receiving that message I have worked on making each day count and marking special days with different activities to be of service and value to others. In marking these special days I have found that it is important to be an action taker and to embrace the spiritual awakening process so as to answer your calling and become the change you want to see in the world. It is your time to come alive and to shine your light bright for the world to see so that communities are illuminated by your actions to mark special days. The feelings that you ve when marking special days will run the gamet of the entire emotional spectrum making you understand that you are a strong powerful person able to make a difference in the world simply by taking action to deliver a message that is filled with hope and healing so that others will understand that they are divine children of GOD and that GOD wants them to prosper so they can prosper others.

The photo is of my mother and it reminds me to mark the special days and to make sure that I understand that today is the day the lord hath made so be glad and rejoice in it. In awakening spiritually and marking special days we begin to open up the channels that lead to peace, love, joy, aand prosperity. One way to make sure that you are marking special days is to make sure that you can answer yes to these two questions, Did I live my life in joy today? Did I bring joy to others today? If you can say yes to those two questions you will have had a good day. Thinhs are going to happen that we feel that we can not control so it is best to continue to live our life on purpose walking in our truth and marking special days. There are going to be many issues that come up that may try to take you off your spiritual path. When those issues arise take a deep breath and remind yourself the importance of marking the special day and that what you are doing is positively impacting your life and the lives of others. Do not allow that which you can not control stop you from moving forward in your effort to make a positive impact while marking special days and remember each day is special. Yesterday is gone and tommorow is not promised so it is important to live in the present known as today and to mark special days.

Today is your special day to continue on your spiritual path so as to enhance your personal, professional, and spiritual life. Today is a day to be guided by GOD and to heed the messages that are being sent to you so that you can mark this day as special. There will be challenges but remember GOD doesn’t give you more than you can handle. Today is your day to surround yourself with positivism so that you can move foward in a positive direction of your goals and objectives. Sometime it is difficult for us to mark special days due to all the crazy mixed up world that we are living in today but remember that life is about to get good.

Many time what we perceive to be bad is actually good as the negative events are allowing us to be grateful for the good events and thus we are able to mark the day as a special day. It is when we put forth a positive attitude and commit to making the day special that we begin to experience bliss and abundance.

Spiritual Awakening: What Is Your Why?

 

As you continue to awaken spiritually you will find yourself asking yourself what is my why. Once you find your why you will be driven to grow personally, professionally , and spiritually. You will find yourself having more peace, love, joy, and prosperity in your life. In many cases we can have several whys as our motivation and drive may come from different sources.

The photo is of my MOM, Judith Miller, who was called home to GOD on July 5,2012 after having a massive heart attack after battling non-operable metastatic lung cancer. I was the one that held her hand as she made her final transistion.  She is the reason that I continue to take action to support the American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Thanks to Jeff Cash, Portrait Artist To The Stars, I have aportrait of her hanging on my wall that I see everday and it serves as a reninder to continue to show people that service to humanity is the best work of life. In wanting to make sure I continue to honor her I do my best to be of service and value to others. Who is your why?

This is my DAD who was called home to GOD on June 7, 2018. He serves as another reason for me to be of service and value to others as he was very caring and compassionate and was always willing to help others.

These are my two of my whys and I have others like wanting to serve as a living example of The Jaycees Creed.

In embodying these principles and beliefs I have been able to continue to focus on my why. Another helpful philosophy that I have adopted to help me live my life on purpose and to find my why is Don Miguel Ruiz’s The Four Agreements.

In finding your why you will be able to create more bliss and abundance in your life. In sharing your why you will find that you resonate with those who are meant to help you excel. In finding your why you will see things fall into place. So now is your time to tap into your inner divinty and find your why. It is said the two most important day in your life are the day you are born and the day you discover why. Many people will help us to shape our why and through out the years our why may change. It is when we find the why and take actions based on our why that we are able to achieve favorable outcomes.

In finding your why and having a reasonyou will find that you can overcome challenges that come your way as you will become stronger thus allowing you to shine your light and illuminate the world. In many cases we simply need to peel back the onion and find our why.  I have come to unbderstand that when we are driven by our why we are able to be passionate and take action thus we find success. Now is the time for you to believe and to follow your why.

It is through believing in yourself and walking in your truth that you can honor your why and find yourself doing things that you never thought possible. It is when you find your why and live a life according to that why that you are able to create the life you desire. There will be set backs and whenthey occur remember that many times they are simply a set up for something better that GOD has planned for you so do not lose sight of your why and continue to move forward in a positive direction of your dreams.

Once you find your why and your purpose you will see why GOD created you as you are a Divine Child Of GOD and GOD want you to show praise so that you can prosper and therefore prosper others. When you find yourself questioning you why remember that the plans GOD has for you are far greater that those you have for yourself.

It is when you realize that you have a purpose and that GOD has a plan for you that you will be able to embrace your why and as a result you will be able to deal with all the trials and tribulations that may come your way as you expereience a spiritual awakening. Make today a day where you discover your why and make plans to act upon that why in all you do in your personal and profeesional life. Now is your time. Namaste!!!

Spiritual Awakening: A Time For Heroes!!!

  In a world that seems to be upside down now is a time for heroes. Heroes walk amongst us to extraordinary things and when asked simply state oh I was just doing what I was meant to do. It is when you taken action and decide that you will use your talents for good by being of service and value to others that you become a hero. Now is the  time to tap into your inner divinity and find a way to be a hero to your community. Heroes come in all shapes and sizes.

    I was watching The Syracuse Women’s Basketball Game and I was introduced to the story about Tiana Mangakahia. I immediately though what a courageous young lady. Her inspirational story motivates us all to be heroes and fight to rise above any challenges that come our way. Tiana is a hero to so many. Thank you to Holly Rowe of ESPN for sharing Tiana’s story.

     A hero lies inside all of us it is up to us to unleash our inner hero and to step into our power by awakening spiritually and answering our calling by coming alive and serving our communities where we live, work, and play. We can do small things in a great way and as a result we can be heroes to those we come in contact with through out our journey. With all the craziness that is happening in today’s world it is imperative to find the good and focus on the positive so we can move forward and become the heroes we are meant to be.

   Holly Rowe is an amazing leader in the sports broadcasting world and is a hero to so many as she inspires all she reaches with a message that you can overcome challenges and that you can reach great heights. Holly shows us all that what the mind can conceive and the heart can believe you can achieve. Some heroes are not with us as GOD has called them home those heroes hold a special place place in our hearts and remind us that very day we have on earth should be celebrated. In the last 13 months there have been so many people that have stepped up to be heroes that the list could fill a book. Who will you be a hero for as you continue toward spiritual enlightenment.

       Many times our heroics go unnoticed but we do heroic acts because we believe that service to humanity is the best work of life. Sometimes we simply tap into our spirituality and we begin to understand how important it is to be a hero to someone. It is said that to who much is given much is expected. Look around at what you have and find ways to be of service and value to others and you will begin to see that your small acts of heroism attract peace, love, joy, and prosperity into your life. Now is the time for all of us to come together and be there for each other so that we can find more heroes. The fact remains that if we act in a heroic and compassionate way we can show the world that the brotherhood of man transcends the sovereignty of nations. We may not be able to bring back fallen heroes and those we have lost but we can carry their memories and carry on their acts of courage and heroism and turn things around so that our world becomes a more harmonious place. It starts with you so please tap into your inner hero and share it with others.

This is my hero. She is my MOM who GOD called home on July 5, 2012. She had battled non-operable metastatic lung cancer and was cancer free when she had a massive heart attack. She is the reason that I am so passionate about my participation in The American Cancer Society Relay For Life. She taught me so many things and she gifted me with a the book The Four Agreements which has helped me to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually. The memories of my MOM will be with me forever in my mind and in my heart allowing me to stay positive when things seem to be a bit challenging. My MOM had a saying the way things are and the way things should be are two different things. This has stuck with me and served as a reminder to change the things I can and to realize that I can not change everything. Spiritual Awakening: Disappointment Turns To Enlightenment!!!

As the regular readers of this blog know I am very dedicated to helping those touched by cancer through my involvement with Relay For Life. Over the years I have emceed many Relays. This year as The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Boca Raton approached I reached out to The People Lead about being the emcee and was told they had that covered. The day of The Relay arrived and I went to Relay and when asked about doing  announcements was told only the staff partner and The People Lead would be making announcements. I was a bit surprised as well as disappointed as I have been the voice of this Relay for the previous 12 years. I understand that people want to change it up and you want to give  other people a chance, however when you have one of the best at their craft who is passionate about the cause and has raised the kind of money I have raised you find a way to include me. I was very angry and I expressed this to the people lead who was so caught up in her title and having power she didn’t even engage with me. Her answer was people don’t want all that talking they just want to enjoy the event.  After my initial anger and disappointment subsided I had the opportunity to sit quietly and reflect and then I realized that not everyone will appreciate your talents and there will be those that are intimidated because while many talk I do.  I then thought that it doesn’t matter if I emcee or not that I am there to honor my mom, Judith Miller, who was called home to GOD on July 5, 2012 after suffering a massive heart attack while battling non-operable metastatic lung cancer and even though I know I could have  engaged the audience and brought excitement to the event emceeing or even making announcements was not what GOD had in mind for me to do that night.

As I walked the Luminaria lap I had an aha moment which put things into perspective. I received a message from source, I believe it was from my mother telling me that sometimes working quietly behind the scenes serves the great purpose. I am working on releasing my disappointment of not being the emcee as well as not being asked to be part of the committee. This could also be a Message from GOD that he has something much bigger in store for me. The enlightening moment occurred earlier today when I realized that at the end of the day all that matters is  that I was impeccable with my word, didn’t take anything personally, didn’t judge, and always did my best. I also realized that as long as I go where I am honored and respected and not just tolerated that everything will be okay.  I also have come to understand that not everyone will understand my level of commitment and my ways of doing anything. I also learned that instead of dwelling on the disappointment look at the good that came from me not being the emcee like being able to do an oracle card reading and put someone at ease and collect $20 for the cause for doing this, to be able to man a booth and receive donations for The SUJA Juice I had donated, and to have the ability to see Relay For Life from a different perspective.

Spiritual Awakening:Becoming A Hero!!!

 

In the trials and tribulations of our society today many are holding out for a hero when the true hero lies within all of us.  I was sitting in meditation the other day and I asked how can I get in touch with my inner hero? The answer came as part of another spiritual awakening stating to continue to just do what you to be of service and value to others and detach from the outcomes. As I came out of the meditation I began to write in my gratitude journal and I began to realize that for most of my life I was focusing on the out comes and was focusing on the wrong things instead of being grateful for the opportunity to be of service and value. As I continue to awaken spiritually I realize just how things can change when we simply stop focusing on results and start looking at the impact we can make because we all have the opportunity to be a hero.

Though Shane Falco was a fictional character in the movie, The Replacements, he taught us a lesson that we can all be heroes if just for one day. Each day that we awaken we should thank GOD for another opportunity to make a difference in our life and the lives of others. Through all that we do we should set the intention to leave people we come in contact with enriched in some way as that is what a hero does. A Hero does not seek recognition a hero simply does what is right without expectation of recognition.  A hero simple acts with grace and humility and does what is considered righteous by others. A hero doesn’t work for the applause or the accolades a hero is directed by GOD and understand the concept that you live to serve and by serving you live. I have learned through all my years of showing people that service to humanity is the best work of life that what I do for myself will die with me but what I do for others will live long after I am gone. I have learned that it is not about the big house, the fancy car, or the designer clothes but it is about how I was of service and value to others that truly matters. You have read it at this blog before about my feelings of when I am in a position to buy the Mercedes Benz that I am taking that money purchasing a modest car and then taking some of the money for my investments and then with the rest I am going to select charities to help. If each day we can be a hero to just one person we can touch lives and make a positive shift in our society that leads to hope and healing.

many are waiting on a hero so now is the time to look deep inside and find a way to step into your power to be a hero to someone everyday. Some times it is the smallest acts of kindness dome with great love that makes you a hero in the eyes of others. I posted a request for donations for The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Boca Raton encouraging people to visit http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg4 and one of the donors wrote a comment that you are one of the heroes. My heart filled with much warmth as I realized that my involvement in Relay is  making a difference in people’s lives. I have come to realize that it is not about the plaques as the metal tarnishes and the wood rots but the memories they last forever.  As you go about your daily activities find a way to unleash your inner hero.

In a quest to become a hero  we must look back and realize that in the end when we face judgement day all that will matter is that we played the role of a hero to someone. When we evaluate our lives and we can positively answer did you live a life of joy and did you bring joy to others we can say we were heroes. When the final light is lit in your honor will your candle show that you were a hero?

Spiritual Awakening:Keeping It Real!!!

When we explore our spiritual awakening and making the mind body soul connection we must become authentic and transparent. If we are to truly keep it real we must take stock in where we were, where we are, and where we are going. If we are to evolve spiritually we must own our mistakes and find ways to correct them so that we remove any blockages that are stopping us from moving in a positive direction of our dreams. When we keep it real and take action we have the opportunity to grow and expand. As we use our anthems to keep it real we become more in tune with our vibrations and thus are able to resonate with those who are on the same spiritual journey that we are on and thus we can work together to create a positive spiritual shift in our lives and the lives of others. In an effort to keep it real and to be authentic it is a good spiritual practice to seek guidance from the ascended masters and follow the messages that are  being presented.

I found that when I stopped trying to please others and focused on pleasing GOD and myself that my results were better and that I became much happier. I have also learned that when I leave expectations out of the process that I am able to keep it real and achieve great things.  I have  also learned that when you are shining your light and doing the right thing you will have detractors and haters. You must detach from the detractors and the haters and keep being real so that you can grow personally, professionally, and spiritually. Sometimes when you keep it real you find that you will be leaving people and things that no longer serve you behind.  I have found that if you are true to yourself  you will shine your light bright and attract the people and things necessary to step into your power and achieve greatness.

Spiritual Awakening: Hope, Healing, and Heroes!!!

 During the spiritual awakening process many times we may find ourselves holding out for a hero when all the time this hero lies with us. So many times we are along the path seeking hope and healing and we continue to hold out for that hero to come along and rescue us only to understand that that hope in healing comes from our becoming one with GOD and becoming our own hero.  We become heroes the minute we decide to take action to walk in our truth and shine our light bright knowing that all the answers are inside of us and contained within our own divinity. The heroic acts of others may fuel us and inspire us, however it is standing for our beliefs and being of service and value that truly makes us a hero.

 David Bowie has created what has become an anthem for many reminding us that we can be heroes. In many cases it is through our own spiritual awakening that we awaken others be it through art, music, poetry, our community service, or simple showing kindness. You can be a hero simple by supporting a cause or keeping your word and living a righteous life. In my life I have found that I have a gift for writing and when I share this gift through my poetry I not only enrich the lives of others but I also enhance my own life. In my writing it is my desire to provide hope and healing to those who read it and to be seen as a hero in their life.

Hope has become a theme of mine as evidenced by my involvement with The American Cancer Society Relay For Life. Shortly after Hurricane Katrina I wrote the following poem as I wanted to give hope to those who were affected by this devastating life occurrence. Spiritual Awakening: Celebrating Thanksgiving Daily!!!

 Once one has a spiritual awakening and they begin their path to enlightenment they realize that a great part of becoming an action taker is to assume an attitude of gratitude. In creating a daily ritual of giving thanks one creates a vibration that attract the proper people into their circle of influence thus furthering the spiritual awakening process. In creating a daily anthem of gratitude and using word like thank you the tasks of the day flow easier and your vibrational level increases allowing for healing to occur. Gratitude is like the small stone skipped across the water that creates little ripples that become waves and thus shifts energy into a field of positivity and possibilities.  In answering your calling and being grateful for what you do have you will see a major shift or change in your personal and professional life allowing you to come alive and share your divinity with others thus lighting up the entire universe. Thanksgiving may be one day in the calendar year that brings a community together however imagine if you made Thanksgiving a ritual in your everyday life. I am not talking about eating all the fixings that go with the holiday but just taking time to thank GOD for all that he is providing for you. I have come to understand that many times it is our gratitude that determines our altitude. In dealing with all the emotions that come from celebrating Thanksgiving we come to realize that gratitude can be a great tool to helping in furthering our spiritual path and thus creating feelings that attract all that we need to find peace, love, and happiness in our lives.

 This year is the second year without my mother, Judith Miller, who GOD called home on July 5, 2012. The tradition in our family was always to get together regardless of where we all were at the time. There were trips to Williamsburg, Virginia and gatherings at my mom’s house in Coral Springs, FL.  Mom always went out of her way to make the day special for everyone from her special sweet potato pie for me to the cheese cake for my brothers moms love filled the air. I am grateful everyday for the time GOD gave me with my mother. I take solace in the fact that she is now an angel watching over me and providing positive messages of guidance. Though there are many empty chairs at the table this year I know that all those who GOD called home are looking down on me and guiding me with peace, love, and happiness.  I will celebrate everyday for the things I have and show gratitude for all those who have shaped me and molded me.  The fact of life is that we should celebrate  Thanksgiving daily by showing appreciation for what we have and for what GOD continues to deliver to us and for us.

   Today would have been my mother’s 74th birthday. My mom, Judith Miller, was a strong woman who for 3 1/2 years battled non-operable metastatic lung cancer and on July 5, 2013 due to complications from a massive heart attack was called home to GOD. As followers of this blog and those who know me know that my mom and I were very close. I am honoring her memory by creating a legacy of hope for those affected by cancer by participating in The American Cancer Society Relay For Life and have set up a website at http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg1 where people can make donations or you can click on the donate page here.

 During one of our walks with her dog, Charlie, we began to talk about Inner Strength. My mom said to me “Jonathan it is all about your BS (belief system) if you don’t believe in yourself none will believe in you.” I thought about this as we walked and as we discussed what it takes to truly find your inner strength I realized that part od the spiritual awakening process is to peel back the onion and discover how strong you truly are. We returned to her house and we sat out on the patio for a bit and we discussed life in general. I asked her “Mom how do you do it, you have faced adversity and you continue to overcome.” Her answer was “Jonathan I had to be strong for you kids and by being strong for you I became stronger.” I guess this is where my ability to be a lifter of others comes from as my mom was a lifter and an encourager. My mom was the first to mention meditation to me. She was the one to gift me Don Miguel Ruiz’s The Four Agreements. I credit my mom who is now my angel in heaven for putting me on a spiritual path and for helping me to find an inner strength. It is in finding our inner strength that we gain the courage to take action, adopt anthems, and experience a spiritual awakening that enhances our personal and professional lives.

Spiritual Awakening: What Are You Dedicated to?

Judith Miller Today’s Blog is dedicated to my mother, Judith Miller who was dedicated to helping me grow personally and professionally. Mom passed on July 5, 2012 due to a heart attack. Since her diagnosis of Non-Operable Metastatic Lung Cancer in March of 2009 she fought and she was winning until that final breath on July 5.  As many people know I was very close to my mom and am grateful to have had her love and dedication. I wrote and dedicated the following poem to her:

A Special Mom

My mom was a special mom,

full of advice, warmth, and charm,

My mom went the extra mile,

never complaining and always a smile,

she carried herself with style,

My mom was always there,

showing me her love and her care,

Words can’t say enough,

about my tough and loving mom,

She is a special mom.

Spiritual Awakening: What Are You Dedicated To?

My mom was an inspiration and dedicated to touching lives. She has asked that Memorial Donations be made to The American Cancer Society Relay For Life of West Boca Raton in support of my involvement with Relay For Life by visiting http://main.acsevents.org/goto/jdogg1 to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays.

As I left the funeral and spent time with my family and friends I thought What are you dedicated to? This question is often the catalyst of beginning  a spiritual journey. I often answer I am dedicated to growing personally and professionall and passing my knowledge on to others so that the world can become a better place one person at a time.

 Mother Teressa was a dedicated women whose mission to change the world one person at a time has left an indelible imprint on the social and spiritual landscape of the world. So when you strya from your path ask yourself what am I dedicated to? Then get back on the path and help to make a differecne in the lives of others.
